The purpose of the current study is to identify barriers and challenges of managers coaching success in the petrochemical industry for which mixed methodology is utilized. In the qualitative section, Clarke and Braun’s (2006) thematic analysis was used to extract the indicators of such barriers; it means that by studying current studies in this regard, basic, organizing and pervasive barriers were coded. Ultimately, a 40 – item questionnaire was obtained by using thematic analysis while the third-order factor analysis with partial lease squares approach was utilized to test the questionnaire. The research population consists of 167 petrochemical managers, deputies, and heads of whom 116 were selected by using the Cochran formula and simple random sampling method while the SMART PLS software package was used to analyze data. The third-order factor analysis findings indicated weakness in communicative and problem-solving skills. Weakness in feedback providing skills, improper managerial style, lack of setting pragmatic goals and obliging to them, improper coach’s behavior and vision, coachee’s propensity to commanding style, lack of trust to coaches, lack of coachee’s motivation, improper organizational culture and unawareness, structural weakness and lack of senior managers’ support, improper HR supportive systems and lack of supports by natural culture can be seen as the barriers on managers coaching success in the petrochemical industry. Additionally, findings indicate that barriers related to coach (0.91), intra-organizational barriers (0.81), inter-organizational barriers (0.68) and barriers related to coachee (0.55) have the highest and lowest impact on managers coaching success respectively. The final result is that the barriers to managers coaching success-tested model enjoys proper validity and reliability and can be used in the petrochemical industry. Manuscript profile

Providing an operational guide for the selection and implementation of learning methods in organizations as one of the tools used by managers and training professionals has a significant impact in effective knowledge transfer and optimal improvement of educational processes. The theoretical model gap in this area and the increasing demand of organizations for decision-making are the main motivations for the author's research. For its theoretical model, this mixed research employed a theoretical research method in the qualitative section and a survey method in the quantitative section. In the qualitative section, after purposeful selection of experts from among managers and training professionals (using a snowball sampling method), the main factors influencing decision-making models were determined using a semi-structured approach. The participants in this section included twelve experts, and the results of the qualitative research section were extracted using thematic analysis. For the quantitative section, the validity of the questions was first confirmed by experts using the CVR method. Following the distribution and collection of questionnaires, they were analyzed using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, T-test, and central indices. Afterwards, the influential factors in determining training methods and human resource development were identified. Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and Expert Choice software were used for weighting these factors. The influential factors, after identification with their weight coefficients, include Audience Level (0.161), Competency Development Program Scope (0.162), Competency Coverage Level (0.139), Competency Development Objective (0.044), Cost Allocation for Competency Development (0.284), Desired Competency Development Duration (0.067), Feasibility of Learner's Real Experience with Competency Phenomena (0.076), and Desired Learning Transfer Duration (0.064). To make the findings practical and direct their practical application, the results were presented in the form of fully functional decision-making software that aims to empower the organization in decision-making. This study seeks to investigate and discover the principles and standards of professional ethics for educational managers along with the related challenges. The research approach was quantitative-qualitative (mixed method). The statistical population in the qualitative phase included the principals of boys' high schools in one district of Sanandaj (Iran). Consequently, 8 individuals were selected as the study sample using the purposeful sampling method and phenomenological strategy. The study data were collected through conducting interviews including open-ended questions. The findings revealed: a) the concepts of professional ethics that educational managers adhere to with regard to the specific regulations of a profession, religious principles and values, and social norms; b) principles such as self-management, having a vision, professional capabilities, respect, commitment, and responsibility in the job; c) challenges such as structural challenges (lack of comprehensive standard, contradiction between administrative regulations, centralized management, ambiguity of goals) and individual challenges (passivity, limited visions). In order to collect the data, interviews were conducted with managers to obtain their views toward principles and standards of professional ethics, and they were asked if they adhere to these principles. Next, the data obtained from interviews were compiled and implemented in the form of a researcher-made questionnaire which was divided into two aspects: occupational principles and the other pedagogical principles. In the quantitative phase, the community (n=283) included all the teachers, assistants, and principals of boys' high schools in one district of Sanandaj. Using convenience sampling method, 163 individuals were selected as the study sample. Confirmatory factor analysis, one-sample t-test, and Friedman's test were used for data analysis. Finally, according to the results of the one-sample t-test, higher than average level of commitment was reported for managers. Also, the researcher-made questionnaire. Additionally, the results obtained through the questionnaire confirmed the results of the interviews. Manuscript profile

The purpose of this study was to identify the factors which affect the self-empowerment of employees in private hospitals in Iran and it was conducted by combining qualitative (data base) and quantitative (survey) methods. The statistical population were selected for both qualitative and quantitative parts. In the qualitative phase 40 individuals were selected. From this sample, 20 individuals were managers and employees of private hospitals and 20 individuals were university professors and experts in the field of management. The data in this part was collected through interviews which continued until theoretical saturation was reached. In the quantitative phase, using Cochran's formula, 293 individuals were selected randomly. The data collected from the interviews were analyzed through the grounded theory and the data from the questionnaire were analyzed using SPSS statistical software. The findings revealed that self-empowerment could be considered as a psychological phenomenon based on individual activism. This refers to a process where a set of causal factors (individual and organizational factors or, in other words, internal and external factors), contextual factors (including cultural-social and organizational factors), intervening organizational factors (including organizational justice and organizational transformation and modernization) involve in its formation. Among the mentioned factors, the respondents offered a better evaluation of individual factors compared to organizational factors regarding the casual factors, of organizational nature compared to cultural and social factors in terms of the contextual factors, and of organization change and update compared to organizational justice in terms of intervening factors. In knowledge-based enterprises, the main capital is knowledge, and it is necessary to benefit from this capital by having knowledgeable employees who are lifelong learners. However, traditional learning approaches do not meet the needs of these enterprises. Based on this, the aim of the present study was to provide a suitable learning framework for knowledge-based enterprises. In order to achieve this goal, the meta-synthesis qualitative method of selection and in-depth analysis of the subject literature were employed based on the seven steps of Sandolowski and Barso. By reviewing the literature, 250 identified sources were analyzed using meta-synthesis method. The results indicated that the components of extra-organizational environment, organizational environment, the essence of knowledge-based enterprises and learning approaches are important aspects of the learning framework of knowledge-based enterprises. Each of these components included sub-components that affect learning in knowledge-based enterprises; therefore, considering the sub-components in the turbulent extra-organizational environment, the organizational environment is affected by the emphasis on agile structure, open culture, collaborative culture, organic job design and independent work space. The essence of knowledge-based enterprises was formed around the orientations including expertise, innovation, team, learning, communication and knowledge. Finally, the three learning approaches of interest in knowledge-based enterprises included experiential learning, self-directed learning, and collaborative learning, which in the literature were the most suitable for this kind of enterprises. Therefore, it can be concluded that paying attention to the identified components along with its sub-components could play an important role in formulating a suitable learning framework for knowledge-based enterprises.
